Terms of Service

The ground rules for using CTO Compass — your account, subscriptions, connected integrations, and the limits of what the Service promises.

Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CTO Compass (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at hello@ctocompass.com if you suspect unauthorized use. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

License & acceptable use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your internal business purposes. You agree not to misuse the Service — including reverse-engineering it, disrupting its operation, attempting to access data that is not yours, or using it to violate any law or third-party right.

You retain ownership of the content you put into the Service. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, and display that content in order to operate the Service for you.

Connected integrations

The Service can connect to third-party services you authorize, such as QuickBooks Online and Fathom. Your use of those services remains governed by their own terms, and each provider is responsible for its own platform. When you connect QuickBooks, you authorize read-only access to your accounting data for the purpose of populating the metrics you choose to track; you may disconnect at any time. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of third-party services.

Subscriptions & billing

Paid tiers are billed in advance on a recurring basis. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with reasonable notice; changes take effect on your next billing cycle. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time — downgrades and cancellations take effect as described in the product, and cancellation stops future renewals.

Disclaimers

The Service, including AI-assisted suggestions, briefings, and any figures surfaced from connected integrations, is provided "as is" and "as available" for informational purposes. It is not accounting, legal, tax, or financial advice. You are responsible for verifying any figure before relying on it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CTO Compass will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes & contact

We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Questions about these Terms? Email hello@ctocompass.com.
